One person’s definition of hard work is not and will not be the same as anothers.

What is miserable one time can be fun the next.

Plastic and water go hand in hand. He is standing in our above ground pool about to practice using the waterproof camera in the first photo.

His plastic swim goggles came in handy as safety goggles back in the day when he and I decided to surprise his dad and take that wall down, inch by inch.  Needless to say when Leon got home, we had very little removed and Leon just reached up and pulled hunks of the drywall down at once…. Something to say about muscle over brains… grin…….  Technology is great at times…

Pizza delivery. Many times it is successful. Pizza still warm, delivery driver personable, food edible. We eat, we forget to take the time to say to the management, “job well done.” I know we are not the only ones. (Reminder to all of us to call on good things to!)

Pizza delivery. Desert pizza topping all in one corner of box. How fast did he take that corner? Or was it the person handing the pizza to the driver? Did he or she hold it at a 90 degree angle or shake it just for the fun of it? Not the first time, nor the last, I am sure, but the time that a call had to be made because the pizza contents were in a similar location within the box.

Call made. “Wish to complain about pizza delivery.” A description given of condition of pizza.

“Well, I don’t deliver them.” (I think we figured that out, since you answered the phone at the restaurant and the driver had not had time even taking corners “that way” to get back there to answer your phone, although he would have been more polite, perhaps.)

“Well, I don’t really care who I tell. May I speak to the manager?” (notice the polite use of the word, “may”)

“I am the manager.”

The conversation went down hill from then. And you know what, we quit ordering from them. If the management has that attitude how can the company expect to bring a below average employee up to average or better? Why should they care if the manager doesn’t? (OK, so we ALL know the answer to that one… rhetorical, I know. )

The shame of it is they are the best pizza out there, flavor wise. We are also moving, so there would be many opportunities to order. We won’t. I won’t bother publishing the name of the chain, because this is about the individual manager and about companies not paying attention to how their managers are doing. And this scene or one similar is carried out all over. We have had enough poor service from companies, and even in small towns like the one below us, there are PLENTY of other companies offering similar products.

They keep giving poor service, because we keep buying because it is convenient. When will we learn? Hopefully, we just did.
